last Friday (13th June 2008) YF had a steamboat dinner in church.. we had it on the rooftop which is a very nice place.. =) unfortunately, we couldn't get the spotlight to work. so, we had our dinner in the dark. a romantic dinner under the stars.. woohoo! haha... we had fun, eating and chatting.. after which, some of us stayed over in church.. a great time to fellowship =))

讲题：如何明白神的旨意

Text: Acts 16:6-10 (Paul going to Macedonia to spread the gospel, following God’s will)

1. 为什么我们要认识神的旨意？

• God is our Master, we are to follow His will.
• When we follow His will, we will be walking in a blessed path
• However, God's will may not always complement our own will

2. 2 different types of will of God

• Normal will -> normal events in our daily lives
• Unique will -> special events, e.g. going to Africa to stay and spread the gospel

3. God's will always go in-line with the bible. A 'will' that is not in accordance to the bible is not the will of God. For instance, one may say it is God's will that I shall strike 4D this time so I must make a bet. This is clearly not a will in accordance to the bible.

4. Devil knows the bible very well, but he misinterprets it so as to tempt us. One well known example is Jesus' 40 days of trials in the wild where the devil tempted him with God's word.

5. Difference between 冲动 and 感动

• 冲动 -> short term
• 感动 -> long term

6. God's will is constructive while that of the devil is destructive.

7. God's will will complement with our living standards of environment.

8. If we disobey God's will, we will end up in pain, wasting a lot of time and going round and round in circles. (Israelites wandering in the wild for 40 years for not following God's will of entering Canaan)

9. When we follow God's will, we will feel peace within us.

10. Following God's will is not necessary an easy path, we may be tested throughout the walk with God, but we will feel peace in our hearts.

11. Faith = believing in something we did not see with our own eyes.

12. Draw near to God and know His will. Set a spiritual goal now to follow God's will!

The talk was alright and we learnt that everything and anything is controlled by our dear Lord. Even disasters. We know our Lord is a merciful and a god full of grace, but why does he allows disasters to happen? That is because he has his own ways of prosecuting humans and has his own timing. We also talked about how sometimes he doesn't reply us when we ask him questions or when we talk to Him.

Speaking from experience, i do talk to Him and questions Him about certain things, and seriously, most of the time, i get no answers at all.. but after some time, the answers will come to be in forms of words, through the bible, and sometimes it was just happen to me as an experience. Im not sure whether can you guys understand but its just like, im experiencing my own questions.. which is rather an amazing way to get answers from Him because you can feel its very personal and from these kind of experience, i learnt that He does everything at His own timing.

today bible study was special. we went up to the third level for fellowship. the room was very comfy and relaxing.. i think its a good idea to go up there once in awhile for YF. like a change of environment rather than stucked at somewhere all the time. hmm, we played a game of 'Wheel of Fortune' before the bible study. the game was fun and funny. haha.. bible study was good. it was on the verse found in Daniel 3:18 "But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up." its something about us, staying faithful to the end. to serve only the one and only living God. the entire Daniel 3 talks about the people worshipping golden images. and those who do not worship it would be thrown into the furnace. to be tortured, burnt.... but Daniel and his friends were not afraid. they stick to what they believe, which is worshipping the one and only true God.. even though they would be thrown into the furnace. this are also the kind of friends we should make. today's bible study is good and i cannot really explain in words about what i learnt.the comfy and realxing way to have bible study

had a meetin discussion on our views bout yf and plans for the programs
for the followin months , and we all had our views bout hw yf hab improved or di-proved .

And yupz ive learned somethings through our discussions ..somethin which i need 2 learn myself

in singapore we're all free 2 worship GOD and fellowship freely without havin 2 pay the price of persecution or any form of risk , compared 2 many countries im sure many of us owns more then 1 bible at home too , i hab around 7 bibles im nt sure>? (because some of my bibles r sittin in some corner of my room collectin dust) ...we hab all the spiritual books tt we can get from the nearest christian bookstores or the libary , but sad to say tt compared to other countries i think tt we've sometimes taken all that we hab for granted . isit tt we'll be less likely to treasure wad we hab unless we've lost them ?

i rmemebr one of my youth pastor from my previous church once told me that in some countries , the scarcity of bibles is so rare tt if you own a bible ..you'll be be ever grateful tt you can be sure tt the bible will be "fully utilised' without fail everydae ...i remembr feelin ashamed when i heard what he said .

let us all treasure and remmebr wat we hab is all because of the grace of God , so lets hold on and tightly to the word of God and drink and thrist for his words and live everydae for HIM like its your last .

Today's sermon was another shocking revelation to me as I have been praying and asking GOD how to manage my time. Although I have some theories of my own but today's sermon really confirmed what I have learned, so I think it is a great revision to me :)

I will just give a compilation of what I learn today.

Time we have equals to life

As long as we have time we have opportunity to do things

We can only live once, how will you wish to fill your life with within this lifetime and how will you answer to GOD.

I believe that we teenagers really need to focus and think about what we want to do and how in all things we can glorify GOD's name through the things we do.

So the question really comes to this.

"How do we know what GOD want us to do"

For the past few months I have been poundering over this question that I think hmmmz if GOD wants me to do something or be some body perhaps a doctor or a musician then GOD must have given me natural talents to further compliment and show what HE plans for us.

So the conclusion is there is a linkage with what GOD plan for you to do with your natural TALENTS!!!

Activity: Beach games

YF for today was all about fun and laughter under the sun. hmm. Maybe not jus fun and laughter, it was knowledge empowering too. All thanks to preacher zheng for coming up with games involving the maps and events recorded in the bible. I really learnt a lot and definitely, learnt it in a fun and unique way! Thanks to preacher Zheng once again! =))

After the ‘kingdom’ game involving the bible quiz, we had another exciting game at the seaside. The second game requires us to actually get through one another’s defenses to win. It was quite challenging as it requires strategy and great team effort to win! I hope we all learnt the importance of teamwork thru this game. Hahas.

Last but not least, after the beach activities, we went back to church to celebrate the birthday of the May babies. Two of them are present, LiXue and Henry. Both turning 17 this yr. =P

And of cos, there were great food too. Not jus the Bday cake, but also sausages and other delights that Lixue’s mummy had kindly bought for the YF. Thank You auntie!

That’s about all for this entry. Overall, I had a fun day at the beach with my lovely youths! =))
